This is the thread for brainstorming on what we want from the upcoming RP, which will be focused on "Gothic Vampire Hunting". As the person who created the setting, I'll drop my thoughts.
I came up with the idea after thinking about Part 1 and how I would have liked a little more atmosphere from it. I wanted a more Gothic feel to it, some more atmosphere, more like the tone the original Dracula gave. So that's where the idea of hunting vampires in a Gothic landscape came about. What I was thinking is this: vampires, zombies, ghosts and other creatures that we want to put in are ravaging the landscape of this 1800's English countryside, and the player characters are those brave enough to fight against them and protect the innocents. The vampires and zombies will follow part 1 rules, so hamon will be a more viable option, and PC's have stands as well. In this universe, stand users who are turned into vampires retain their stand, so the hardest enemies will likely be past vampire hunters who turned into vampires themselves, and they retain their stand.
The RP will be in a classic three act structure: act one introduces the characters, their goals, and they learn about the various monsters they are fighting. Act two becomes more difficult as the enemies get more stronger/cunning and the focus slightly changes because of what the main antagonist is doing. The third act is completely devoted to fighting the main antagonist.
I talked with Resis about the setting and he has some good ideas for it so I'll let him talk more about it. I do have a good idea for a main antagonist but I won't talk about him unless you all want details, because I'll let other people come up with main villain ideas. Also feel free to say what you want from this setting. I also need a name for this RP, like Planet Caravan, but conveys the spirit of the RP.

First of all, here's a list of monsters from various myths and stories, expanding our monster roster greatly.Alright so during these days I've been thinking about both my RP and Dere's RP, and I think I came up with some pretty good concepts myself. First of all, Dere came up with the inclusion of silver weaponry alongside Hamon. You know, silver bullets to slay werewolves and stuff. Also blessed and holy weapons, like blessed from high ranking priests or popes. These weapons could be flintlocks, rifles, bladed weapons (no katanas weeaboos). Of course, there should be also limitations on this weapons. I was thinking about limited ammo and lengthy reload times for ranged weapons (Gothic ages yo) while melee weapons put the user in danger since he would be in close combat. I suppose you could also channel Hamon into your silver weapon or something, as long as it's not overpowered. Anyways what I was thinking about was to develop the relationship between hunters and normal citizens even more. I wanted citizens to fear hunters, either because of the dirty work they do or because they believe that their presence simply causes more pain and suffering. Hunters would be treated like outcasts and most towns will be courteous to them only because of the involvement of the Church, which would actively support hunters cause vampires and werewolves are unholy yo. Of course, not all citizens have to be extremely aggressive towards hunters. Some could admire them, others could fear them and some would just leave them alone and keep their nose clean. I was also thinking about there being a special unit of hunters that were specifically trained to hunt former hunters. Since Dere said that hunters could be corrupted and turned into vampires and werewolves as well, I thought this would be a nice addition, since we could delve into more "serious" themes when needed, like whether it's right or not to kill someone whom was once your ally and clichè stuff like that. So yeah, for now it's this shit.

"Wander man, lost man, knocking at the door. Maggotman, bellman, knock no more."
The Bellman's Rot is an incredibly virulent plague that once ravaged the land. Very little records exist of it's progenisis, much less about how to cure it. What little anecdotal evidence left of it was the supposed to have come: a hunchback with the Sicks would run to the center square of a once prosperous city, loudly ringing a bell warning everyone about a deadly fever that was to come. No one would believe the hunchback, yet their ignorance only made him yell all the more louder. Tired from the constant whining of the townspeople the hunchback was thrown to the stocks and left to starve to his miserable demise. Weeks after, a highly contagious disease spread across the city. Under fear that the disease was transmissible by the voice of someone infected with the disease, the entire city was awash in flame as paranoid and manic citizens slaughtered their neighbors in a frenzied attempt to control the disease. Rumor has it this very city exists, cordoned off from the world to prevent the spread of the
From what Plagueminders have found out about the disease, the Bellman's Rot is transmissible by body secretions. Human waste, spit and even sweat could transmit it by touch. The disease takes root, forming a brownish spot that drips pus and black mucus. Eventually the flesh surrounding it also begins to form similar bumps, proliferating rapidly. It is observed that an average human male dies anywhere from three days to a week, depending on the strength of the infected. Along with excruciating pain the victim suffers from intense paranoia and violence, often turning them Sick in the head. Flies are also attracted to the putrid excretions, with such lumps bursting open, crawling with maggots and whatever disgusting drippings come from it. Limbs that are infected by the rot can be amputated, though all such diseased corpses must be burned, ashes must not be scattered lest crops or drinking water be contaminated.
Those who are infected often derive great pleasure from hearing loud noises. It is not unheard of for infected victims to put on chimes and loud ringing instruments, shambling in their confinements wailing in a loud and manic voice. Plagueminders work hard to detect even the slightest sign of the Bellman's Rot, for even a single case of the disease can cause entire sections of a city to be locked away.

Main villain idea. some background for you.Name : DOOM Age: 23 Country of Birth: England Country of Residence: England Languages Spoken: English Personality: He is filled with rage towards the rest of the world for what happened to him, especially those who claim to be "Vampire Hunters". He wants to see the world disfigured and mutilated like he was, and afterwards become the true ruler of all humanity. History: Once, he was a vampire hunter like the heroes of the story, and went by the name of Viktor. He had seen the horrors that vampires spread across the countryside with his own eyes, so he wanted to do something about it. He quickly rose up to become one of the most well known and well respected vampire hunters across the land, so much so that even ordinary villagers knew of the name "Viktor". He enjoyed his life of protecting villages, and he had a beautiful partner named Guin. However, in a terrible organized attack by vampires, Guin was killed, and Viktor was filled with rage. He tried to get other Vampire hunters to help him take them down once and for all, but they all were afraid of what could happen to them. Angered, Viktor went off on his own to fight the undead hordes, but sadly, he did not succeed. His once beautiful face was bitten off and he became the thing he hated more than anything else: a vampire. Now one of the undead, Viktor was filled with rage for what happened to him. He adopted a mask made of metal to hide his disfigured face and began to go by the name of DOOM, and he set off to find true power to enact his revenge. Striking up a deal with the devil, he sold his soul to obtain "The Greatest Stand", DOOMSDAY. With this frightful tool of destruction at his disposal, his control over DOOMSDAY grows every day, and so does his power. He has an army of powerful vampires at his disposal, and he plans to enact his revenge any day. Notable Skills: vampire physiology, knowledgeable on the techniques vampire hunters employ Notable Weaknesses: filled with rage, he is blinded to reason because of his anger. Important Items: The metal mask Appearance: DOOM is very tall and menacing, standing at over six feet tall. he is also bulky, and he hides his body under drab brown robes and his signature metal mask. His voice is deep and soothing, and he is able to hypnotize those with low willpower by simply speaking to them. Stand: DOOMSDAYDOOMSDAY has the ability to completely control the force of electromagnetism within it's range. Electromagnetism accounts for nearly all physical phenomena observable except Gravity, the Strong Force and the Weak Force. It includes electricity, magnetism, light, mechanics, chemistry, etc. He uses this power in a variety of ways, such as creating super hot laser beams, energy force fields, particle manipulation, and many other techniques. Type: Close Range Power: A Speed: A Range: C Durability: A Precision: A Potential: C Appearance: DOOMSDAY takes the appearance of a great hulking humanoid steam machine. it is made of dirty steel and coughs up clouds of black smoke every so often. It stand around seven feet tall and has sharp red eyes that glow with an unnatural light. (not sure on this part, I'll probably change it)

Alright, about the plague: It can work and it's a good idea, but the more power you give to it the more confusing our RP might get, and in order to use it to its maximum potential we should make it look like a completely unstoppable epidemic. Unfortunately, that also means that during our RP we'll also be forced to find a "cure" or something to help us out, which can either severely hinder or improve our RP. I just don't want the whole RP to turn into a fetch quest of some sort, but the idea of the plague is solid, if a bit clichèd, but it works as long as the entire focus is not on the plague.
And about the villain dere. Damn son where'd you find da edge? The villain is cool, I just hope his motivation isn't only revenge, but even if it was I'm sure you can make it work out. The Stand is solid, but for some reason I find it a bit underwhelming when compared to your other Stand ideas. Just my two cents.
Also dem stats girl, are you sure he really needs A in everything? Just saiyan. Also you missed Development Potential I think.

Alright so I just had this idea about peaceful creatures. We all know that in certain series some mythological humanoids are shown in a positive light (Mainly vampires and werewolves), subverting the usual idea that "Dark is evil". I thought we could have the same thing in our RPs, perhaps making our hunters able to reason with the most intelligent ones. For example, the Yacuruna is a mythological fish creature that lives in underwater cities that are parallel versions of our cities. These fish people are however unable to breed and so are forced to seduce or kidnap young, human girls (Between 14-20+) in order to reproduce. While the species can perform sex with humans normally, in order to reproduce they must transform the women into fish women as well, indoctrinating them and making them part of their family. Most transformed women won't try to return home, being content staying with their husband and children. There could be an event where our hunters had to investigate mysterious disappearances in villages, but with a remarkable lack of violence. Perhaps during that the hunters meet the docile Yacurunas and attempt to reason with them.
Just my two cents, to make the monsters feel more "alive" and "varied". Perhaps also to give the theme of "Just who is the real monster"?

It sort of reminds me of the Shin Megami Tensei series le nocturne xD where you can negotiate and reason with the demons, or in this case the monsters of whatever we're calling them.

Alright so another idea I had was to add more of an emphasis in camping and stuff like that. You see, since hunters are feared by most of the local people in most towns, I thought that it would make more sense for our characters to sleep in inns for only a day or so, while instead the camped while walking in the Gothic realm of Dere's creation. This would make it quite different from Planet Caravan, since we don't have cars and don't really need horses. Camping would allow our characters to develop more in my opinion, doing small stuff such as hunting, talking, saying stories while sitting in the fire. Perhaps while hunting a large beast we need to set up camp due to it being quite a fast fellow. Just my two cents, I just want to use camping as a way to reinforce the bond between characters, while trying out something unique.

I changed DOOM around a bit, gave him more backstory.
Name : DOOM Age: 27 Country of Birth: England Country of Residence: England Languages Spoken: English
Personality: On the outside, DOOM is a calm yet brooding character, spending much of his time alone in his hideout thinking of his plans. He has unmatched ambition, ruthlessly determined to put his plans into motion, with lofty ideals that guide his every move, his cunning intellect nearly unmatched. He hides a deep anger towards humanity within him, anger for what happened to him. He wants to see the world disfigured and mutilated like he was, and afterwards become the true ruler of all humanity. Despite this, his twisted mind sees his goals as the best possible future for humanity. He believes that by having no freedom under his militaristic rule, humanity will be rid of it's worst parts. No more anger, no more cruelty, no more racism, no more violence. A true utopia that only he could create. his followers view him as a true god: and he believes himself to be a god as well.
History: Once, he was a well adjusted young man known as Viktor Vaughn. He was the a simple servant to a rich household, faithfully serving the family he worked for. The father of the household, who worked for the church, saw potential in young master Viktor, and he was sent to the church to become a vampire hunter. It was here that he began to train, learning the ins and outs of vampire hunting, quickly rising through the ranks of the church. It was here that he met another young vampire hunter, a beautiful young lady named Guin. It could be described as love at first sight. The two hit off immediately, and together, they became one of the greatest vampire hunting duos of all time. Yes, these were the happiest days of Viktor's life. He was so good at his job that even average villagers, which usually feared vampire hunters, found comfort in his presence around their villages. Viktor was proud of his accomplishments, and he promised to Guin that, once he had retired, the two would marry and settle down in London. Viktor's dream came crashing down one day, however. He had left Guin alone one day because he was investigating a mysterious event that occured a few villages over. It was merely a distraction, however, orchestrated by a group of vampires. While he was gone, Guin was caught in a surprise attack by several powerful vampires, and unfortunately, she did not survive. Viktor was filled with unspeakable rage, so he went to the high council of the Church requesting that the best vampire hunters go after the group that killed Guin. The Church refused his request, however, afraid that they might lose their greatest assets. Viktor was not about to let his love stay unavenged, however, and he set off to fight the group on his own, regardless of the odds. He put up a good fight, but in the end, he was mauled, his face bitten off, and the vampires turned him into one of their own because they knew of his great power. Now one of the undead, Viktor was filled with rage for what had happened to him, as well as how he was treated by the church. He adopted a mask made of metal to hide his disfigured face, began to go by the name of DOOM, and he set off to find true power to enact his revenge. He managed to summon the devil to the material plane, and he offered up a deal with him. First, DOOM would sell his soul and obtain "The Ultimate Stand", DOOMSDAY. Second, he would enslave all of humanity (both DOOM and the Devil wanted this, so it was mutually agreed upon). If DOOM succeeded, the Devil promised to give back the soul of Guin to DOOM. Now, DOOM is slowly building his power. His control over DOOMSDAY grows stronger with every passing day, and his army of undead vampires is poised and ready to attack humanity. Once he destroys the pesky Church and it's vampire hunters, his plan will truly come to fruitation.
Notable Skills: vampire physiology, incredibly athletic, powerful kicks and dives, and knowledge of the techniques that vampire hunters employ
Notable Weaknesses: filled with rage, he is blinded to reason because of his anger.
Important Items: The metal mask
Appearance: Viktor Vaughn was a handsome young man, with chocolate brown skin and handsome features. He made sure to always dress in his Sunday best, and to practice good hygiene. DOOM is very tall and menacing, standing at over six feet tall. he is also bulky, and he hides his body within a set of customized priest clothing, with belt buckles representing his "bondage" and his will to limit his actions for a future he hopes to access later. His hideously disfigured face is hidden underneath his signature metal mask. His voice is deep and soothing, and he is able to hypnotize those with low willpower by simply speaking to them.
Stand: DOOMSDAY DOOMSDAY has the ability to control the force of electromagnetism within it's range. Electromagnetism accounts for nearly all physical phenomena observable except Gravity, the Strong Force and the Weak Force. It includes electricity, magnetism, light, mechanics, chemistry, etc. He uses this power in a variety of ways, such as creating super hot laser beams, energy force fields, manipulating the location of matter, and many other techniques. Type: Close Range Power: A Speed: B Range: C Durability: A Precision: A Potential: C Appearance: DOOMSDAY takes the form of a devilish animal with red skin. It's body is vaguely humanoid, thin and lean with it's ribs sticking out, but it's head Is like that of a rat and it has ram's horns. A mask similar to DOOM's covers some of it's rat face. It has a dark atmosphere around it, as though it is not of this world, representing it's demonic origins.

So, in the RP, there will be two different kind of enemies we encounter. There are "beasts" which include things like vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc., and "apparitions", which include ghosts, ghouls, and demons. Beasts are very confrontational and in your face, and they are weak to silver weapons. Apparitions are very passive in their ways, and they are weak to holy weapons/water. Both are weak to sunlight and stands.

note about apparitions: for the most part, they do not attack with no provocation, unlike beasts. They always attack because of something that someone did. For instance, at the very least, a ghost will begin to haunt someone who stepped on what was once their land. A more common case is that a person who is shouldering deep emotional trauma will be possessed by a spirit as a physical manifestation of the emotions they have locked away. Or perhaps a person will look to call upon an ancient power to solve a problem they have, but the power they call upon turns out to be a much greater problem than the one they were dealing with.

how I'm seeing the characters getting together: they are all recruited by the church in some form or another to aid each other in fighting these monsters. They travel the countryside looking for beasts and oddities to combat, sometimes going through towns and having adventures that way. there can be subplots about the plague or other things along the way, and eventually they learn about DOOM and have to stop him. probably some stuff will happen with the church too, since they obviously aren't a perfectly righteous organization.
