"I don't like to invest based on trust. It takes years to build it, but only seconds to break it down. There's no riskier venture."
CHARACTER PROFILE
Name: Rudolf Coleman
Age: 28
Country of Birth: Canada
Country of Residence: Canada
Languages Spoken: English, French
Personality: Laid-back is the best way to describe Rudolf, what with his calm demeanor and apparent knack for keeping calm under pressure. Despite this he is slow to trust others (in particular, women), but his loyalty is unwavering once earned. He has a strange habit of knocking at any door he faces, based on an accident when he was a child. Also a chain smoker.
History: Once upon a time, a man loved a woman. The result of that was child born from a crumbling marriage. At kindergarten Rudolf had to explain just why he never had a 'daddy' when parents would come and pick him up from school. In his rather forgettable school years he was punctuated by loneliness, bullying and incessant teasing. Despite this, he continued to work hard, always looking forward to the future as he sought to become a writer. He worked 3 jobs during his high-school years, always working hard in hopes of entering into a college he desired to attend. When he finally made it inside, he 'befriended' a woman who, after a rather shady meeting, then blackmailed him when she claimed she was pregnant with his child after an encounter in the bar. The truth couldn't be further than that: sure he drank a bit too much, but he was sure to escort the young lady back to her deadbeat boyfriend. It was very likely that it was her 'boyfriend' that got her pregnant, but decided to blackmail him as a dirty trick. His trust shattered upon realization of this, he had no choice but to leave college, saddled with debt.
His heart was not the same after that. He came to realization that no one could be trusted so easily. And because of that, he began to discover 'his power'. At first he used this to steal objects of value from grocery stores. Soon enough, he began to work as a con-man, swindling others and stealing from them with his 'power'. Now at age 28 and in relatively comfortable means, Rudolf attempts to find purpose in his life as he comes to the realization that there were others like him.
Notable Skills:
- Rudolf is an excellent house keeper.
- Rather good with money.
- Has a knack for reading people's intentions just by looking at them.
Notable Weaknesses:
- Tends to assume too much about others.
- Often quick to abandon others if the odds are not in his favor.
- A little clumsy when pressured or afraid.
Important Items: A novel, His wallet, Keys and his Cellphone.
Appearance: A man of average height with auburn brown hair and olive green eyes. Though lean and on the rather short side at 5'4, he has a rugged appearance about him, as though he were an outdoors man. Even when he is in the city he has a rugged look about him, hence why he looks awkward in formal clothing.
STAND PROFILE
Name: Mightier than the Sword by Borealis
Type: Object stand
Ability:
Lightscribe: An object that is pressed to a book or a page held by the user within the stand’s Operation range will be translated into ‘text’ at the current state it was in. Objects, from pencils to even guns can be transcribed into a book or page, coming out only when the page is flipped up and the user reaches into the book as though to pull it out. For example, if the stand user drives a Pencil against a book, the book instantly translates the object into the current page as the word PENCIL in Arial 14pt, which definitely stands out from the Times new roman 12pt. The user may then reach into the book as it taking out the object and thus would be able to bring it out as though it were an open sack. The state of the object prior to being inserted into the text will be retained: a loaded gun will retain it’s bullets and a cooked grenade will have a smaller fuse time upon leaving. There can be only one object per 'page' in the sense of the book. Only objects that can be held within reason can be transcribed: if the user cannot carry it, the object cannot be transcribed. Only one book may contain any number of objects.
From the text: The user is able to select a specific 'word' from a single book, allowing the user to bring it into being by drawing it out. Unlike Lightscribe, it must be an object that was not inscribed into the book into the first place. Only one object can be drawn from a single book at any time. Mythical objects will not carry out their mythical properties: if he drew Excalibur, the sword drawn will not have any inherent magical effects. Objects that do 'not' yet exist will be turned into a comparable object in equivalence based on need: if he tried to draw a lightsabre from a book, it would only draw out a sabre or a rapier. He cannot draw another object from the text without either expending or returning the object, if applicable.
