So...part 8. JoJoLion. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 8: JoJoLion.
Is really confusing.
We're still not sure what the plot is, and it's been going for three years. We're up to 40 chapters, and each chapter averages about 30-40 pages.
And we still don't know what the fucking plot is.
Now, we have a basic idea of the immediate conflict. Jo2uke 'Gappy' Higashikata wakes up on a beach in Morioh, with no memories, four balls, a sailor hat, and some major diastema. He's found by Yasuho Hirose, and over time he learns that somehow his body has a shit ton of DNA from Yoshikage Kira-Joestar. This remains a mystery until Kyotaro Nijimura-Joestar-Kira reveals that Gappy is in fact an unholy abomination against nature, a fusion of two people into one body, Kyo's brother Kira and someone else. His stand, Soft&Wet, is a fusion of Kira's stand Not-Killer Queen, and another unnamed stand through the power of burying two things near the Wall Eyes, another mysterious thing.
But that's only the beginning.
The other immediate plot thread is the Higashikata Family Disease, a strange disease that strikes the first born child of every generation of the Higashikata family, Jo2uke's adopted family. This is a mysterious disease that turns the body of those affected into stone, like a statue.
Example:
Now, Holly Joestar-Kira, the mother of Kyo and Yoshikage, is somehow related to this. While doing some snooping, Yasuho finds out that Holly is apparently missing large chunks of her brain, giving her a weird effect where she can't tell the difference between certain objects. This is apparently a side effect of the Stone Disease, and Kira, her son, was trying to find a cure for her. But then he was murdered and buried near the Wall Eyes (resulting in the creation of Gappy), which leads me to my next point:
Who killed Yoshikage Kira? Well, probably this asshole:
That ^ is Yagiyama Yotsuyu, flamboyant nutcase, architect, T O P S E C R E T holder, and Rock Human. That...thing...next to him is his stand I Am a Rock, which deserves a bit of a b-dum tish. Why?
Cause he can turn into rocks. Well, one rock. And that's not even his stand ability. That, we'll get to later.
But yeah, the guy can turn himself into stone at will, without a stand or anything, just turns himself into a rock:
How the fuck he manages to do that, we don't know. but Gappy theorizes that it's part of his natural biological makeup, which would mean he's from an entirely different species....
So this guy shows up and says a bunch of cryptic and vague things to Gappy about how they've met before and how he's going to kill him, and then Gappy throws him off of a cliff into the sea, and afterwards Norisuke says something about this guy probably having allies somewhere....
Like this guy:
This ^ is Dainenjiyama Aishou, baseball team manager, walking fashion crime, and SLEEVES.
Nothing is known about this guy as of yet, except for the fact that he was walking around giving fruit to old men.
The Fruit?
THE FRUIT!
The Fruit are yet another unexplained plot point. These Fruit, besides looking weird, have the ability to bestow equivalent exchange upon those who eat them, the example provided being an old man with a missing leg eating one and growing his leg back, but losing his eyes. Now for those that read part 7, Steel Ball Run, this could start looking a little familiar....
The Corpse Parts. These plot MacGuffins from part 7 were the dismembered pieces of the corpse of Jesus Christ, or a Saint, or something. that wasn't explained very well.
They not only have the power to bestow upon certain people stand abilities, but also form a new stand when completely assembled together:Ticket to Ride.
This stand has the ability of Divine Protection, which basically makes the user invincible, and the ability of Love Train. Love Train is a thin wall of light that only those with dimension crossing powers can enter. Once inside, any harm done to the light will be reflected somewhere else in the world.
Kinda like equivalent exchange.
See, at one point in the late 1800s, Johnny 'Joe Kid' Joestar (the protagonist of part 7), stole the corpse from it's secret vault under New York city to cure his wife, Rine Higashikata, of a mysterious Stone Disease in Japan. The American government wasn't too happy about this, so to throw them off he hid The Corpse under some random tree outside of town.
And this is where it gets to Theory Time.
The Fruit have to come from somewhere, right? Somewhere in or near town at least, as that seems to be where the Rock Humans mentioned earlier are getting them from.
Somewhere like a tree.
Now, The Corpse is IMMENSELY powerful. It basically makes the user completely invincible, and gives people stand powers just by being near them. So, what would happen if the Corpse was hidden under a tree for a little while.
Iunno exactly, but this is what it looks like:Johnny hid the Corpse underneath a tree, and the residual energy from the Corpse just being there caused the tree to get a stand or special ability of some sort, the power of equivalent exchange, much like the power of Love Train.
But the Corpse shit doesn't end there.
So remember Yagiyama and Dainenjiyama?
Yagiyama's stand, I Am a Rock, has the ability to to give Selective Attraction to an object or person, which makes every object of a specific type (like chestnuts or flower pots) be drawn to the victim's body. This makes the stand like a more specific version of Love Train, which can't get too far away from the user without drawing objects towards the user.
Now, Dainenjiyama's stand hasn't technically been revealed yet, but this little peek was posted on the main translator of JJL Kewl's twitter:
We know nothing so far except for this picture. But if you remember part 7 well, you'll be able to see a weird similarity to...
Scan, the stand of Gyro Zeppeli, and guard of the Eyes of the Corpse.
So what we can say for certain is this:Jesus is a really big deal.
I will continue this shit when more information is actually revealed.
