The martial artist had stepped forward. A darkness creeped into him, but so did ignorance.
For during his monologue, he would suddenly find himself in the way of the large being's left arm, covered in the end by the massive, customized Lightning Claw. With the actual 'spikes' taken off of the fingers and instead replaced with chainblades, the power field that covered them was still in full effect. As such, the power field that enveloped them would be able to cut through armor and flesh with the utmost ease, and would easily slice through and gut Ryu in one fell swoop, with little resistance.
As for the incoming fire, The Daemon Prince would not be interested, but nor should he be. As the bullets would impact, very little would occur, other than them simply pushing the servo-arm the cannon was mounted on slightly, and that would be from momentum. The armor, covered all around the monster, would not only be the equivalent to a highly armored tank, but even further strengthened by the energies of the Warp. Even then, the multitude of tentacle-style extensions out of the thing's back would spring to life. The one armed with a long barrel, upon closer inspection, was actually a series of six barrels, which began to rotate in quick succession around one another. As it spun up, it let loose a volley of fire, a single shot of which could tear open heavily-armored infantry with the slightest of ease. The other one to face her, the shorter-barreled fat one, seemed to 'lob' a shell forward, rocket assisted. Designed for bunker busting, even if it missed, it would at least cause a crater some way away. The Hades Autocannon and Demolisher Cannon fired at this gun-toting chick, while the rest of the weaponry still faced forwards.

A test then...
Sephiroth took note of Toki's technique, quickly surmising that a ranged attack was more than likely to be sent toward him. Acting with an incredibly fluid grace and a speed that outclasses what both combatants had just used, Sephiroth takes action and leaps to the left right before Toki's arms fully lower. The speed is something utterly surreal, both an after image and a small impact crater from sephiroth's dodge are created, his side stepping ending with a leap that sends him aloft. Sephiroth would only remain a foot or two off the ground as this occurs, his improvised glide ending mere seconds later. During all of this, Sephiroth never seems to lose his cool or find himself truly surprised.
Bringing matters back to the "test" Sephiroth decided to administer to both combatants. The beam that was now traveling faster than light was headed directly for Saber's center of mass as she decided to land behind Sephiroth. Assuming the blast truly traveled at the speed of light and hit, Saber would find herself on the receiving end of the attack that was meant for Sephiroth.

Within the next second, Toki would shoot forward and stop behind the stricken Saber, and strike at her back twice. The first was a punch, easily cracking away her armor, and the second was two fingers, landing deep into the center of her back. The pressure point Shinreidai was activated, and Toki took another second to twist the fingers, before rescinding them to prepare to counter once again. Having been in his state of Nil-Thought, he would fear no regret, not anger, no guilt. Only the tranquil pulse of the fight.
Saber's muscles would contort grotesquely across her back, rippling and pulsing, and she'd cough up blood when Toki's fingers had twisted. Her nails would peel back, and the excruciating ordeal, which consisted of pain few humans could tolerate, would leave her with white hair and one day to live, should she survive. She would undoubtably be left vulnerable, and as such, Toki remained in her range.

The seconds' delay would be enough for Mami to mumble another phrase as the rifles once used as steps gathered beneath her, pointing downwards. "Twin cannoli," the girl said quietly, ringlets bouncing in the wind as two magnificently large pistols appeared in her delicate hands and they, too, were aimed down. The pull of the trigger took no more than instants as crashing booms rang and the girl was propelled high up above the volleys, and she landed lightly on yet another rifle. Now above the action, the moment was spent summoning yet another brigade of unmanned guns, now pointed directly at the same barrels that'd shot at her moments ago. Another resonating explosion sounded as the new hail of bullets, one that--if hit--would create an intricate lattice across the openings of the barrels, flew down towards the cannons.

Saber, without any time to react, would have been defenseless had Toki not quickly "fixed" his heinous mistake. As she is currently being afflicted by the previously mentioned effects, she stops to think about what she did wrong. However, she quickly realizes that she did nothing wrong, and it was Toki being a jackass that put them into their current predicament. And so she only feels rage for being unable to fight Sephiroth one on one like she desired to.

As Toki begins to save Saber, The Fallen Angel makes his move. Without warning, He lunges toward the savior with unbelievable speed, his passage looking nothing short of awe inspiring. Every movement is precise, honed, and executed flawlessly. The Masamune is quickly thrust at Toki's left side, the blade sliding through his flesh effortlessly lest Toki stop saving Saber and save himself. The strike would be one of surgical precision and it would pierce the heart, killing the man instantly. The end of the blade would erupt out the other side of Toki, blood dripping from it's edge.
"Embrace despair..."
Sephiroth replies in a heartless manner as he unceremoniously tears the blade from it's victim, nearly cutting him in half as it goes. Sephiroth allows the body to fall, his back turned to the rest of the fighters.

Ojirou cautiously peered over one of the bleachers. He grimaced at the sight of Jesus or someone getting killed.
"I feel super useful right now."

Raoh, I was unable to bind your fists. I'm sorry, brother.Rivaling Sephiroth's speed in the last action of his life, Toki's free hand shot forward at the angel, fingers outward. As the blade approached, his ki ejected, and he finished his act of pressing Saber's pressure point to save her life. The bright blue beam of ki caused a small gust from the speed and power of Toki's last exertion of energy, aimed just below Sephiroth's left shoulder. If it made contact, it would strike Shintanchū, and temporarily paralyze the him. With a gout of blood from his side and his lips, a faint smile was left on his face as he collapsed back, fingers finally leaving Saber's back. Such was the fate of his star.

Toki...you truly had the heart of a warrior. May your soul rest in peace.Saber's sword is lying by her side, knocked to the ground in all the chaos. Kneeling, Saber looks to her right and sees her glorious weapon, a symbol of her combat prowess. Knowing what she must now do, Saber takes her sword in her hand, feeling the weight of the weapon once more. She gets to her feet once more, somewhat unsteady but with more reason to fight than ever. New found conviction in her eyes, she looks once more at Sephiroth. A dead glance, filled with no emotion. "Toki had the heart of a warrior, and was a true gentleman. Do you think I'll let his death go unavenged?" Saber's sword began to glow with a holy light. " Like hell I will." Taking stance once more, Saber activates her Prana Burst, sacrificing some of her magical energy to enhance herself beyond what should be possible. "I see now that I can't limit myself against these opponents. I have to fight at my full potential." Raising her sword above her head, blinding energy surrounds the sword. This sword... It is the dream that all warriors, past present and future, hold as their death's approach... A sad, exalted dream... I carry their will as pride, bidding them to remain steadfast in loyalty... The name of this miracle..."EXCALIBUR!"Saber's sword reaches it's absolute maximum in power, and appears to become an incredible heavenly shaft of light reaching to the skies, capable of smiting the greatest evil. Saber swings this mighty blade, no, it has transcended the title of blade. Saber swings this INSTRUMENT OF JUSTICE in the direction of Sephiroth, and it's heavenly light surge towards him at an incredible speed. As she swings the mighty instrument, Saber sheds a stray tear for Toki. Shine on, you Crazy Diamond...

" This is your true strength? Pitiful. "
Sephiroth raises his right hand into the air, a storm cloud of monstrous proportions forming itself within the span of moments. Soon enough, pillars of what appear to darkness erupt from the clouds and descend upon the land's outside the arena. At a closer glance, the pillars appear to be a writhing mass of energy tendrils or waves. Said phenomena crash onto the surface whilst the storm above seemingly expands. It is in this chaotic state, that a slight chuckle escapes Sephiroth. This energy release on Saber's part apparently did little if anything to deter the one who had killed Toki.
" On your knees. I want you to beg for mercy. "
Adopting a stance similar to what he had earlier, Sephiroth lunges toward Saber. His movements are incredibly quick but are capable of somewhat being followed by the human eye. Upon closing the distance however, Sephiroth performs a diagonal slash in a downward motion, said attack occurring faster than the human eye could hope follow. Additionally, the power behind the strike would give it the ability to flawlessly bisect an opponent should they fail to dodge or counter said attack.

The girl flew upwards.
Assuming she did so in a quick movement, quick enough to dodge the shell lobbed by the Demolisher Cannon, and assuming she was up high enough to evade the impact of the bunker-busting shell, it would impact her barrage of firearms that she was standing on before moving upwards. The explosion would occur micro-seconds after impacting even one of the array of rifles, causing a deep explosion, but not quite wide. However, two things would occur from such an explosion. The Demolisher Cannon fired a shell which had two extra properties after impact. First, upon detonation, a wide spray of shrapnel would be propelled over the area. None of it would injure the Daemon Prince, but against flesh it would slice to ribbons. Second, and less likely to affect anything, was the shell's chemical core, which, upon impact, would vent superheated plasma and lance through anything in the explosion radius.
Assuming that she had moved up quick enough to dodge the detonation, she would be bombarded by a single wave of razor shrapnel. Assuming she survived that, the Hades Autocannon would simply continue upwards as it let loose its continuous barrage of high caliber bolterfire, rocket-propelled explosive bullets. Since it would indeed take her a second to achieve this poisition, the upwards turning of the tentacle-like appendage that held the demonic gatling gun-like device would be able to follow her movements. If she still, indeed, could follow through with summoning another barrage of rifles, assuming again that the shrapnel did not unhinge her and change her actions, and also assuming that she could fire before the stream of bullets caught up with her, then her bullets would fire. Directly at the firearm firing back at her. In essence, what would happen would be that the moment the array of her incoming fire came across one of the Hades Autocannon's grenade-like bullets, there is an extremely high chance that one of the incoming bullets would impact the bolterfire, thus causing a small, body-sized explosion. If anything, this explosion would cause havoc with trajectory, and would send her shots (with strings attached?) astray and scatter over a wide area, maybe even some in the back back at her. Even if the first didn't hit, the second one might. Or the third. Fourth. Fifth. Sixth. Seventh. Eighth. The Hades Autocannon did have a great rate of fire, after all, and the move inaccurate status of a gatling gun-like device would make it even more likely that one out of the thousand would impact. Even if none did, the shots were still on the trajectory towards the girl, and if none of the shots impacted her bullets, they would hit her instead within a shorter amount of time before hers hit the Daemon Prince. And, once more, even if they did impact her shots and sent them flying in random directions, this wouldn't hamper the Autocannon's fire still directed towards her, and so if the first shot hit the incomming barrage, then the second shot would pass through the cloud of smoke it would cause and hit her, once more.
If impacted, an Autocannon blast could easily take out a good half percentage of one's body with a single shot.

In the desolate arena, the creak of an opened gate broke the silence of the abandoned area. A towering warrior of a man walked through the picturesque ruins until he stood in it's center, black cloak flowing in the wind. Light scars were scattered across his square set face, his short shock of black hair segregated by a white streak above his right eye, forever closed by that damned ape of an Apostle. His right hand, wrapped in bandages, removed itself from his cloak to feel at the mark on the back of his neck.
No blood. But he could still sense the old smell of the battlefield in the air.
His hand moved to the hilt rising from his back, and his cloak was unfurled as it revealed the mockery of a sword underneath. Just over seven feet long and one foot wide, the 'blade' was more akin to a well formed hunk of iron, designed to crack a dragon's skull in two. As he held the ridiculous sword to the sky with ease, the tattered cloak revealed the intricate armor underneath it, a sheen of light bouncing off the pitch black plates. A leather strap across the chest bore a set of throwing knives, a pouch he'd taken back from that bratty kid, and a repeating crossbow, made to mount on a wrist. More noticeably, he was lacking his left arm from just below his elbow.
Or, more accurately, his left arm was made of metal, the magnets within clutching the 'joints' of it's hand slightly into a fist, iron and leather keeping it tight to his flesh. He had allies in the barren coliseum, but they would prove their strength or die. He could already taste the freedom of fighting for himself. He rested his sword on his shoulder, and waited for his opponents to show themselves. Guts waited for another battle to earn his title as the struggler, surviving all odds.

The man appeared from seemingly nowhere. Clad in a spiked bodysuit and strange floral pattern shorts, he did look very bizarre to those around him. But he was not to be taken lightly. Adjusting his small flower cap, he surveyed the surrounding area. A coliseum, it looked like. Plenty of stone. Good, very good. He regarded the other man in the arena, tall, muscular, dressed all in black. Well, he'd had worse teammates. Yagiyama Yotsuyu decided the best option at the moment was to turn to stone and wait for his time to strike. They would all fall to his stand, I Am a Rock.

Another ancient door slowly creaked open, signaling the approach of another fighter. At first, nothing stepped through, leaving only silence. But suddenly, out of the door flashed a brilliant green and blue streak that escaped the entrance, moving faster than the eye could see. The streak came to stop a few feet from Guts, and a young woman kneeled near to the ground, brandishing a wicked sharp blade, reminiscent of a katana. Her sharp eyes quickly scanned for immediate threats, and seeing none, she cautiously stood up. Her (strangely colored) green hair was tied up in a pony tail, and it was extremely long, reaching past her back. Her attire consisted of a long blue garment which was reminiscent of a kimono. Curiously, it didn't seem to offer much in the way of defense, even having her thighs exposed. Her blade seemed to be of vaguely Eastern make, around 60 centimeters or so, and the metal was a bronze yellow. On her back was a regal bow and a large supply of arrows.
She quickly sized up her allies. She sensed great sorrow within the swordsman, but also the capacity for great fury. The other one with the curious outfit was harder to pin down, brandishing no visible weapon. It was hard to tell whether these allies be a gift or a hindrance, but she hoped that they would prove to be strong in the following battle. She smiled to herself as she got into a fighting stance. Lyn was ready for a fight.
