I'm a nerd and decided to make some MADs of our RP threads. I'm currently making a Planet Caravan MAD and doing it little by little so that I don't have to do it all in one go, but since we all participated in the RP, I think you guys should tell me what you want to see in the MAD and what you don't want to see, since I only have a limited list of songs. Here's a shitty pic of my progress so far. (Not much I know)

I think it's good. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be judging, to be honest, but the least I can say is that you seem to be doing a pretty good job with it..

BKZ You fucking nerd.
This is a MAD aka AMV. Basically what I'm doing is doing a brief synopsis of the cool parts in PC.
You goddamn nerd.

Shouldn't Pocoloco be old, considering the time that has passed? The year isn't 1980, it's 198X, allowing us to fuck with the time stream a bit, and not get nailed down. You put in a Space Jam quote, but did not involve Barkley, the actual user of Space Jam, who is involved with this race. No mention of Elias Deckard, the cyber commando. Great Balls of Fire and it's user drive a Pick-Up Truck, not an 18 Wheeler. Pretty sure you did a Brody Brothers line for Vaughan You left out quit a few racers, if your going by those that were there in the start, Abe and Cajun for example. Lack of Truckasaurus disappoints me.
Suggestions: If you are doing racers, both good and evil, you should show off the rides with each racer, as those are also somewhat important. Same with Stands maybe.

I put a lot of placeholders just so I didn't have to wait for all you guys to get on, that way I can start with half work done at least. This is still WIP remember. Also I'd show off the rides for each racer, but that would be extremely time consuming for some rides since I have to mask them and find some decent pics of them, I really struggled finding a lot of car pics lately for some reason, but if I find a good site consider it done. I'm also currently using the SBR x SOUL'D OUT Music as a placeholder, since I don't really have much Soul'd Out music myself and even then the versions I have aren't "clean." Because of the music I also have to find quite a bit of songs in order to give every character their time in the spotlight. Oh and I meant to ask you this yesterday: Give me a good Conan quote pls, and how's the vid so far?

Blah blah stupid analysis of the MAD and my main problems
Timeline: 0:00-0:15 Introduction to the race and to Pocoloco. Everything clear so far. Music is probably going to be what I put in the W.I.P
0:15-0:30 This is where the main problem starts. Here I introduce the racers, but there are simply too many, and the music in the first part of the timeline is far too short to introduce this multitude of characters. Solutions?
0:30-0:40 End of the song and "Wake Up People" starts playing. Some bit of info about the date and some "READY?!" and "GO!" stuff. Pretty good so far.
0:40-1:15 Probably the best part of the vid so far. Multiple images of the race are shown that describe the events happening. For example in 0:44 of the WIP vid we can see Paul chasing after CJ and we see some images describing Alaska. I plan on only describing villains when they do something significant aka Attacking main characters, so I don't have to worry about showing all the villains like for the protagonists. Ended part with a cliffhanger so everything is probably alright.
Alright, help me out will ya guys.

Ok Resis, you know what? I'm going to tell it like it is.
Your MAD is good, but I feel like if I weren't in the RP, I would have no fucking clue what the MAD is even about. Sure you've got the racers (or at least the people/characters they are based off of) and you've got the stuff about Alaska and the reward for winning, but all of that is just conveyed by random pictures and words popping up and then just sliding off screen. I realize that most people outside of this website won't be viewing this, but you should still try to at least be a little more specific.
On top of that, I think that the MAD is kinda slow and does not flow very well. Though, that may be because it's following the specific song you set it to, in which case, try to find a song that's a little more quick and do stuff around that instead.
Other than those issues, I think it's pretty good and I look forward to seeing the finished product.
You fucking nerd.

Also, try to represent Matt in the form of Tim Rogner. (Even though that's not quite how I imagined him, he's the only member of Allister that's close enough to my image.)
Nerd.

BKZ, first of all thanks for the feedback since you are like, the only one except Kharn who has replied in this thread (I'm looking at you other nerds.)
Now first watch this vid:
Pretty damn stupid awesome I know. In this MAD you can understand the plot clearly and the music fits the video nicely, but here's the main problem:
We just have too many characters in PC.
In Stardust Crusaders we have only 5 main characters at the start, so they each get a bit of screentime around the beginning, but in PC we have like, 10 or something? The main problem is, how the Hell am I going to fit 10 characters in the beginning of the video?
Also I don't really think that I'll make the video more specific, since MADs aren't that specific anyways and generally only describe key moments in a particular series while cutting out all the crap and just writing the basic goal, its general audience is towards those who have already read/watched the source material anyways.
And about the music, it's not final. I'm using Soul'd Out music for the most part, but that could change. Anyways I think that the video is so slow because I tried to introduce the characters and explain the villains and the race in too little time (1 min) so I failed miserably.
In the end I still want to this beast of a project, but my main difficulty is introducing everyone at the start while also explaining the race. I have mostly found out ways to fix stuff for the villains, if you have any other ideas, please post.

I understand, and that's okay. You don't necessarily have to include every single character, it would actually be kinda ridiculous to try and do that. It's got a lot of characters. I was just mentioning a few things I specifically didn't get, and I'm clearly no expert on making MAD's. I may have been wrong about the introductions of the characters, but the speed and flow is still a thing I guess. But hey, who am I to tell you what to do? Just keep makin' that sweet, sweet MAD and I'll do other stuff that contributes to making sure your MAD isn't a hunk of shit. YOU'RE WELCOME
